59 PM EasternGeneral Definition of Work Caseworkers are responsible for the process of determining initial eligibility for all Income Maintenance programs to include Adult and Family & Children's Medicaid, Refugee Assistance, Low Income Subsidy, and applications from the Federally Facilitated Marketplace.
Agency hours are Monday through Friday, 8:
00 am to 5:
00 pm.
Employee will have the option to negotiate a flexible work schedule.
Employee must be available for overtime and emergency situations if needed.

Essential Functions The caseworker is assigned to a team within the Income Maintenance Section.
This position is responsible for taking and processing applications, determining eligibility, and maintaining cases for Medicaid, Low Income Subsidy, and the Federally Facilitated Marketplace.
This includes interviewing the client, verifying information, determining eligibility, maintaining the record, and making changes to the record.
The employee must determine how the changes impact the eligibility of the case.
Caseworkers are expected to utilize the NC FAST system to process applications and manage cases.
Caseworkers must have a thorough understanding of the NC FAST system.
Duties include researching and evaluating resources, verifying information, processing applications and re- certifications, explaining programs, referring clients to other appropriate agencies or community programs and documenting findings and status of the case.
Emergency Shelter Operations:
The individual in this position has responsibilities for staffing and aiding when public health or emergency shelter plans are implemented.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education & Experience Caseworker must have excellent computer skills sufficient to use NC FAST, NC's online management system, as well as various other search engines and software programs.
Caseworker must possess excellent interviewing, listening, reasoning, organizational and computational skills with the ability to read, comprehend and evaluate documents from a multitude of sources.
Worker must possess the ability to manage and work independently, be extremely organized yet sufficiently flexible to meet unplanned assigned work.
Caseworker must have the ability to perform functions within structured timeframes.
Caseworker must have the ability to communicate effectively with applicants/clients, the public at large, public officials and other agencies to obtain data, explain and interpret rules, regulations and procedures.
Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field, Business or Communication; or 2-year associate degree from a community college; or 1 year experience as a caseworker with direct client contact.
Additional training/
Experience:
experience in certain related agencies, health care agencies, and volunteer work with helping organizations such as Red Cross, part time workers in LIEAP or any other type that is based on need criteria.

Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina.
